Yokohama-Style Ramen is a popular style of Japanese ramen that originated in Yokohama in the 1970s and called "Iekei" (家系) in Japanese. This style of ramen combines elements of two other famous ramen types: the rich pork bone broth of tonkotsu ramen (from Kyushu) and the soy-based seasoning of shoyu ramen (from Tokyo).
The medium-thick noodles go very well with this broth and are favored by men and women of all ages. It has become recognized throughout Japan and established as one ramen genre.
